South Hill Spring Fest 2009

8th annual Spring Fest - May 8th & 9th 2009

The South Hill Revitalization Committee is planning the 8th annual Spring Fest to be held on Saturday May 9th rain or shine from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Brook Avenue and South Main Street and some booth spaces are now available so call early to get yours.

The event is getting larger and more festive each year and features everything from food and music to vendors offering their wares for sale and artists displaying their talents. There are games for the children to keep them entertained during the family day of fun. Each year more and more people come out to enjoy the event and they are looking for the crowd to be even bigger during this years celebration.

Local artists are asked to sign up early for this even and this year they will be treated to an artist reception and juried art show on May 8th at the R. T. Arnold Library. Prizes will be awarded in art and photography on both the professional and amateur levels.

Booth spaces ( 10' by 10') sell fast at $30 each payable in advance, but a few more are available so call 434-447-4547 today to reserve your space before they are sold out. The annual event promises something for everyone, whether you want to shop, check out local artists, enjoy food and music or just socialize, Spring Fest 2009 in downtown South Hill is the place you will want to be May 9, 2009.

As with each year, look for prizes, registration boxes, give always and more at vendors throughout the event. Be sure to browse and pick up informational pamphlets and brochures, purchase antiques, jewelry, handmade items, gift items, plants, books, a pony carousel and more. While visiting Spring Fest also check out any of the local downtown shops while in the area. Come out and make it a day of fun for the entire family. It all comes together in South Hill on May 9 when Spring Fest 2009 kicks off a calendar of events that is full of local activities all year long in Southside Virginia.
