Come out and enjoy one of the largest model train displays in Southside Virginia. For over 30 years the Bevell's Hardware Christmas Train Display has been a joy to visitors. Featured in a National Toy Train Magazine, the Bevell's display is one of a kind. This year's display is over 50 feet long featuring over 10 "O Gage" Model Railroad Trains with dozens of cars. The display also includes many Authentic Replicas of Blackstone buildings, Fort Pickett like it was in the 1940's, your favorite holiday and cartoon characters and more.

Seay Park is transformed into a twinkling wonderland during the holiday season. Thousands of lights illuminate numerous decorated houses. Including a Nativity, Santa's Workshop, Grandma's Kitchen and more.
On the following Fridays and Saturdays - Dec, 3 & 4, 11, 17 & 18 (Not Dec 10th due to Parade) Santa will make a special appearance, and there will be miniature train rides for the children. Hot chocolate and cookies are even served free of charge. This event is truly a family tradition in Blackstone.

  Vickie Fuquay has been housing bluebirds since 1990. She is the bluebird coordinator for Pittsylvania-Halifax Counties. She is on the board of the Virginia Bluebird Society, and a member of the Speakers Bureau of the North American Bluebird Society.

The Danville Elks Lodge #227 will host a pancake breakfast fund raiser for the benefit of the George Washington High School Baseball Booster Club on Saturday February 12, 2011. The menu will include pancakes hot off the griddle, savory sausage, juice, and coffee.

Tickets are only $5.00 for all you care to eat. Serving will begin at 7:00 AM and continue until 11:00 AM at the Elks Lodge located at 560 Main Street in historic Downtown Danville. Tickets may be purchased from any Elks or at the door.
