Enjoy a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Virginia's only lakeside town at the 4th annual Lake Country Wine Festival! 15 Wineries from across the Commonwealth will be serving up samples of their finest wines from noon until 5 pm. Location is in Front of Century 21 on the Lake - 412 Virginia Avenue. Tickets are $20 per person; $25 at the gate. Event for those 21 years of age and over only. Halifax Earth Day Extravaganza -
The Halifax Improvement Council, the Town of Halifax and the Convergence Art Guild will present "Halifax Earth Day
Extravaganza" at the Halifax Farmers Market in historic Halifax, Virginia on Saturday, April 24, 2010 from 10am-4pm.
8am will be a Community Walk / Fun Run.
From 10:00 - 4:00 The Day will continue with The Convergence Art Guild creating a masterpiece from recycled materials found within our
community. Local musicians and food vendors will entertain crowds while they meander through demonstrations from
local, Earth-friendly organizations and displays from our area farmers and small businesses.
Experts will be on hand to inform the public of how and where to recycle common household items. Hands on activities for children will be
available. Posters from the "Dare to be Clean, Dare to be Green" poster contest will be on display and the contest
winners will be announced.
The day is sure to be fun, educational and inspiring to all who attend!

The event will be held at Centennial Park again this year in downtown South Hill on April 28th, but just after the Festival you can head up the hill and enjoy an Affair on the Square event featuring R and B Band Liquid Pleasure. You can come out and enjoy food, beverages, DJ Shep Moss and more from 5- 6:30 p.m. and then dance from 6:30 9:30 on the upper field.
Liquid Pleasure will play from 6:30 9:30 on the Upper Field and complimentary Beverages will be served 4:30 6:00 PM, Food Served from 4:30 7:00 PM.

Noland Village Days/21st annual Noland Country Fair Day -
On May 8, 2010, the 21st annual Noland Country Fair Day will be held in the Village of Noland at Providence, in Halifax
County. The festival is held at the intersection of Morton's Ferry, Cole's Ferry and Lake Conner Roads. As always,
there will be antique machinery, classic vehicles, arts and crafts, and the wonderful Brunswick stew made outside in
the ole' black pot along with homemade desserts.
The time is 10 AM to 3 PM. All vendors are welcomed to come set
up displays early and sell their wares at no charge. A reservation is not necessary although it is recommended that
you call 434-454-2210 to register and have a spot reserved.
All proceeds from this event are used for the upkeep and
maintenance of Historic Halifax Church, the oldest Presbyterian Church in Halifax County.
Noland Village is a restoration of an early crossroads community near Clover, VA. Come enjoy a day with Brunswick
stew, country music, crafts, antique furniture, antique farm machinery, plant and herb sales, and a house tour.
Crafters, artisans, woodworkers, antique dealers, old machinery and antique car collectors are cordially invited to
attend. Historic Halifax Church and other buildings will be on tour.
