Hometown Dog Beauty Contest

Dear Newspapers,

   Farmer’s is having another year of benefiting the local animal shelters, humane societies, and spca’s with our dog and cat contests with the winner getting 4 tickets to the Saturday Nite Richmond Race and Free Steaks to the runner-up for both the Spring and Fall races.

   Our Hometown Dog Beauty Contest is underway with photo drop-boxes now in all of our stores. The graphics are attached for the banner and handouts that are being distributed to our customers at this time. Please feel free to distribute as you wish.

   The specific agency being benefited is listed below for the particular Farmer’s Foods in that community.

• Dillwyn Va—Beath Animal Shelter
• Kenbridge Va---Southside SPCA
• South Boston Va----Halifax County Humane Society
• Highland Springs Va---Henrico Police Animal Shelter
• Southside Plaza Va---Richmond Animal League
• Louisa Va---Louisa County Animal Shelter
• Luray Va---Page SPCA
• Louisburg NC---Franklin County Humane Society
• Edenton NC---Tri County Animal Shelter

   All dog entries have a chance to be a winner, photos will be mailed back to the address on the back of the photo. Each photo drop-box has written on the front the animal agency that the donations will be benefiting in that community.

   We were somewhat successful with this last year, being our first; but the Here Kitty Kitty Contest in the fall really received a large amount of entries. We are using our radio stations, intercom, ad circular, facebook, website blog and eblasts to spread the word to our customers to get the year started well with the dog contest.

   Farmer’s Foods and the respective agencies would really appreciate some public announcements on this program to benefit your communities. Please see attachment.
